Focus.
A lack of clarity and vision for the future are all too common factors for the majority’s failure in MLM. Let’s face the facts, most people don’t find the success in multi level marketing that they hoped for, because they either come into the business for the wrong reasons, they have a lack of long terms vision, or they just go about building their business without leveraging the technology that only the Internet truly affords.
When I first got started in network marketing, I was like a deer in the headlights. I was clueless about what the deciding factors were that were paramount to building either a large downline, or a large monthly five or six figure residual income.
Unfortunately, my upline had a bad case of the blind leading the blind syndrome. Why? Their results reflected it. With a few rare exceptions, most couldn’t keep their heads above the water for very long because they lacked vision.
Remember how that’s how I started this article off? For a lack of vision, the people perish. I can’t fault them. They were just doing what they were taught to do. Chasing people down in gas stations, restaurants, laundry mats etc. or hitting their family and friends up with their pitch.
Sadly, these are the real reasons most people experience utter failure in network marketing. They don’t employ leverage, automation, or technology, and consequently end up reaping what they sow.
Your focus will make your business sustainable and motivate your team once you actually get one – but if you want the best results – you’ve got to learn some fundamental marketing skills, and you’ve got to begin thinking like an entrepreneur. Meaning, you only spend your time doing the things that produce results for your home business.
I was led to believe that signing up just 2 people, who would then sign up 2 more would yield me six figure per year results, and a handsome monthly residual income to boot. The irony of all that is after a year of working my mlm business like that, I was left with a year’s earners in the neighborhood of $600. Not to mention that I actually spent over $2000 to acquire that $600.
I’m not sure what’s worse. The fact that I spent nearly four times what I made, or the fact that I refused to quit. Maybe that’s a question better reserved for my wife. lol.
Despite that, I still needed to find a way to sell products, sign up distributors, and make a minimum of five figures per month. Interestingly enough, I stumbled across the secret online.
Once I understood that the real business building power was sitting within my fingertips the whole time, I began using the internet to build my network marketing opportunity to grow an explosively successful downline, and sell more product than I ever thought possible.
If we decide to bring things back to the basics, and use a clear focus on achieving our goals while levering technology, we’ll find what we were looking for all along.
